  • In order to address the issue of early restaurant closures in Barkerville, the St. George will be offering a family style gourmet dinner at 7:30 pm for those guests who prefer a later dinner or who are arriving late. Dinner is not available on Saturday due to conflict with Theatre Royal.

    For very late arrivals, we will also be offering a snack tray of cheese, crackers grapes and olives-great value at 15.00 for two!

    After a sumptuous dinner, there is nothing that compares to the magic of the spectacular Cariboo night sky as you wander the town's boardwalks in your own private ghost town. Our comfortable parlour is the perfect place to enjoy lively conversation with new friends and your favorite beverage.

    After what may be the best sleep you have ever had, prepare to enjoy a delicious breakfast served a la carte at our huge boarding house reach dining table on fine china- an elegant start to your day.

    Kick back on the 2nd floor balcony and watch the parade of miners and merchants as they go about their typical day in a Gold Rush town. Wave to the folks coming by on the stagecoach and get the best view in town for daily street theatre. Take advantage of our icebox on the balcony for your drinks and snacks or please ask us if you need ice packs for your personal coolers.

    All meals are served with dessert plus coffee and tea! In order to enjoy a beverage with your meal, be sure to stop and purchase it in advance. If you are arriving too late, let Ms. Saya know and it will be purchased for you.

    Punchy red (aka) miso rounds out the flavor of sweet potatoes, carrots, and kale, adding body, sweetness, and just a hint of bitterness.

    This rich soup is rounded by hints of warm, toasty cumin and gently bitter brown ale.

    Barkerville is located deep in the Cariboo Mountains in east-central British Columbia, Canada. A leisurely drive 81 kms east of Quesnel on Hwy 26 will get you here. The town of Wells and the world renowned Bowron Lakes are close neighbors.

    By Air: Central Mountain Air and WestJet operate flights from Vancouver and Edmonton to Quesnel and Prince George.
    By Rail: Via Rail runs services from Vancouver
    By Bus: Greyhound
    Local Bus: Barkerville/Quesnel Scheduled every Thursday only.
    Light Aircraft: Landing strip just outside park entrance

    Be advised that if you take public transportation to Quesnel, there is no rental car service in Quesnel. From Prince George, you MUST rent a vehicle as no regular bus service is available.
